Food Plant: Aquilegia vulgaris (Columbine), Thalictrum flavum (Common Meadow-rue)

Mine: June-July; August-September (Hering, 1957)

Notes: Forms a long stem mine (which may be up to 50cm long) with scattered black frass in clumps. A developing mine is shown, with the larva mining upwards. Pupariation is at the end of the mine and the puparium is yellow in the summer generation and black in the autumn one. Mine shown on Aquilegia vulgaris (Columbine).
