Food Plant: Ranunculus spp. (Buttercup), R.acris (Meadow Buttercup), R.bulbosus (Bulbous Buttercup), R.repens (Creeping Buttercup) Mine: early Summer and Atumn Notes: The mine appears as a dark brown blotch at the apex of the leaf (as shown), superficially resembling a diseased part of a leaf, with the frass being partly in strings. Pupation is in the leaf, usually at a distance from the mine (the puparia are shown in the bottom photo. The top photo is of the mine in transmitted light).
