Notes: Forms an inconspicuous mine in the autumn as a long thin whitish gallery which traverses towards the base of the leaf. The larvae may swap leaves and mine several leaves before reaching maturity, where they mine the leaf sheaths. The mine is identical to that of E.luticomella. Widespread in the UK. A close-up of a mine on Dactylis glomerata, a broad gallery with dense frass and the larva just visible mining down into the base of the stem.
