Notes: Initially mines downwards and the mine is narrow but then expands to occupy the width of the leaf. Frass is scattered in elongated black lumps. The larvae change leaves and there may be more than one mine in a leaf. Found in deciduous woodland and woodland edges. A close-up of a larva in a mine on Schedonorus arundinaceus the larva is grey with a brown head and anal plate, and a broad black prothoracic plate, clearly visible here.
