Food Plant: Deschampsia cespitosa (Tufted Hair-grass), Schedonorus arundinaceus (Tall Fescue) Elsewhere: Brachypodium sylvaticum, Calamagrostis epigejos, Carex spp.

Egg: laid on the leaf tip

Mine: Autumn-July

Notes: Initially mines downwards and the mine is narrow but then expands to occupy the width of the leaf. Frass is scattered in elongated black lumps. The larvae change leaves and there may be more than one mine in a leaf. Found in deciduous woodland and woodland edges. Pupa ex. mine on Deschampsia cespitosa (note the thin silk anchorage thread mid abdomen), adults reared.Mine collected 27.vii.2023, Bagley Woods, Berkshire, VC22
