Food Plant: Betula (Birch) Mine: April - May Notes: The largest and commonest of the Eriocraniidae. The mine starts at or near the leaf edge and then widens into a blotch. The larva, shown in dorsal view, still has dark sclerotizations of the head and prothorax (which it loses as it matures). Compare with the mature larva.
