Food Plant: Rosa (Rose) Egg: Usually underside of leaf Mine: June - July, September - October Notes: A short gallery with linear frass. The larva is yellow, head brown. The moth needs to be bred out to identify this species, as the mines of S.anomalella can be similar. A cocoon was formed (as shown) on 12.viii.2015 and the adult emerged 31.viii.2015, which enabled identification. Data: 12.viii.2015 ex mine 09.viii.2015, Hessle, South-east Yorkshire, VC61 Image:© Barry Warrington |
