Food Plant: Filipendula vulgaris (Dropwort), F.ulmaria (Meadowsweet) Egg: Upper surface of the leaf Mine: June- July, late August - October Notes: The first part of the mine is almost filled with frass and tends to follow the leaf margin. It then broadens into a blotch, which can fill the space between the the midrib and leaf edge. This species is now considered to be the same as S.ulmariae but S. filipendulae, being the senior name, takes precedence Data: 28.vi.2022, Skellingthorpe Woods, South Lincolnshire, VC53 Image:© Martin Gray |
