Food Plant: Sorbus torminalis (Wild Service-tree), S.aria (Whitebeam) Elsewhere: Amelanchier ovalis (Snowy Mespilus), Cornus domestica (Service tree)

Egg: upperside of leaf, often away from a vein. Eggs may also be laid on the underside, often against a vein (van Nieukerken & Robrecht, 2025)

Mine: June-August; September-November (van Nieukerken & Robrecht, 2025)

Notes: Makes a mine with irregular frass which is often broken and may be in parts thicker than 1/3 of the mine. The frass line may remain thin throughout. the gallery sides arew bulged. The larva is yellow and may appear whitish. The prothoracic plate is pale brown to almost indistinct (van Nieukerken & Robrecht, 2025).
