Food Plant: Crataegus (Hawthorn)

Egg: Underside of leaf at the tip of a lobe (as shown). This distinguishes the mine from Leucoptera malifoliella where the egg is laid centrally under the mine.

Mine: June - early August

Notes: A blotch mine is formed on the on leaf-lobe with central frass (as shown in top photo of leaf upper surface).
