Notes: A gallery contorted, “gut”-shaped. The larva is green. The fresh frass is reddish in colour and there may be more than one mine in a leaf (as shown). S.lemniscella can make similar mines but the mine is initially in concentric circles, whereas viscerella has a zig-zag initial gallery (as shown).
