Food Plant: Populus sp. (Poplar) and Salix sp. (Willow) Egg: on the leaves Mine: summer Notes: It makes a characteristic, middle-brown, oviposition mark, like leather, mostly near the margin of the blotch. The emerging larvae bore into the leaf epidermis making irregular blotches, which turn brown/black as they age. The larvae need to be bred to determine their identity.
