Pupa: In the final leaf roll made by the larva

Notes: The inital mine leads to a Phyllonorycter blotch on the undersurface of the leaf (just to the right of the lower leaf roll, in the photo). The larva then rolls the edge of the leaf, making two or more rolls. The larva has two distinct forms and habits - the first phase is a sap feeding phase and the second is tissue feeding (Heckford, 2021).
